4 Questions with Brian Tomlinson

4 Questions with Brian Tomlinson
Bradford Football Head Coach
1. Have you coached your entire career in Florida?
“This is my 21st year coaching, and they have all been in Florida. I was the head coach at Lake Butler Middle School the first seven years of my career. I spent the next 10 as offensive coordinator at Union County High School, and this is my fourth year as head coach at Bradford High School.”

2. How has COVID-19 impacted your team in terms of player or coach positive tests, missed practice time, and games?
“Earlier in the season we were losing three to four players a week due to contact tracing. Our first game we were down 13 players due to quarantine. We had two coaches miss some time due to contact tracing.”

3. How is the season going so far?
We are currently 3-4. We are very young. We have some talented kids, but they lack experience. Our senior class is small but talented. We have some guys who are committed to programs like Troy and FIU and others who have offers from Power Five schools.

4. Beyond this season, what’s next year and beyond looking like with returning players and guys coming up from middle school?
“The future is bright for Bradford High School. We will lose nine seniors this year and seven next year.  Our current sophomore, freshman, and eighth-grade classes are loaded with talent. The current freshmen won two straight championships at the middle school level, and the eighth-graders are working toward another.”
