As the teams get ready for the state championships, here is an updated ranking of the top 15 programs in the state. We presented to you the top 15 Georgia high school boys wrestling programs ahead of the 2026 season back in November, so let’s take a look at our updated top 15 before these teams and others prepare for the state duals.
At the top is one of Georgia’s most consistent and dominant sports programs, inclusive of any and all sports: Camden County.
Camden County wrestling head coach Jess Wilder’s Wildcats will be looking for their 12th consecutive duals state championship, and they’ll be in familiar surroundings as the host site for the Class 6A duals. Wilder isn’t taking anything for granted despite his team’s long-running streak of success.
“This year will be just as challenging as the past several years with Buford having a nationally ranked team,” Wilder said.
Camden County returned 10 starters from last year’s championship squad, and as Wilder told us back in November as we rolled out our 2026 Georgia high school wrestling preseason rankings, he was hopeful with so much experience returning in 2026.
“This 2026 group is probably the strongest senior class in our storied history, so our goal is to win the state championship,” he said then, while admitting that there was plenty of stiff competition to get through, including the aforementioned Buford Wolves.
Camden County and Buford aren’t the only teams to watch for in the upcoming duals.
Here is our updated top 15 as 16 teams from each classification (except Class 3A, which will host 17 teams) head to their respective sites the weekend of Jan. 16-17.
- Camden County (6A)
- Buford (6A)
- Jefferson (3A)
- Social Circle (1A)
- Creekview (5A)
- South Effingham (5A)
- Rockmart (2A)
- Toombs County (1A)

- Lovett (2A)
- Cass (4A)
