Top 10 Georgia High School Softball Teams Across All Classifications
Updated 10/8/2025
For the first time this season, the 10 programs in our Georgia high school softball top 10 rankings remain the same as the previous poll.
With the end of the regular season, teams will begin the state playoffs, and for our top two teams, that means the march towards defending their state championships from a year ago.
Buford remains in the top spot, as the Lady Wolves have all but erased any doubt that they are not just Georgia’s overall dominant softball program, but they’re one of the best in the country.
Buford is undefeated at 26-0, with a 15-0 region 8-6A mark. In fact, Buford hasn’t lost a region game since September 21st, 2021, a 6-5 loss to Dacula. Since that game, Buford has reeled off 64 consecutive region victories and 4 straight region titles over that stretch. That includes this year’s region title.
They’ll now start their playoff march to what they hope is a return to another Class 6A state title, which they fell short in last year, falling to East Coweta.
Class 4A Harris County has clinched their region title with a 9-1 overall record, their clinching win coming on Sept, enver 30th in their final region matchup of the year against second place Central Carrollton. Harris County won that game 9-2, breaking the region tie between the two teams, who were each 8-1 at the time.
The Tigers will now get ready to defend their state championship when the playoffs begin next week.
Elsewhere in the standings, Eastside, Veterans, and defending class 6A state champion East Coweta round out the Top 5.
Eastside is hoping to get back to the Class 4A state title game where they lost to Harris County in 2024. The Eagles are undefeated at 23-0 with a couple of games remaining before they start the Class 4A state playoffs. They clinched the 8-4A Region title with a perfect 14-0 record, a full 6 game lead over second-place East Forsyth.
Veterans has gone 10-4 since reaching the top spot in our rankings a month ago, but the Lady Warhawks are still playing well enough to remain in our Top 5. The defending state champs from 6A East Coweta Indians round out our top 5, and Franklin Deloach’s squad will have an experienced group that knows how to win in the crunch come playoff time, so don’t count them out until there are no more outs to count.
Wesleyan and Hebron Christian remain at number six and seven, respectively, while the team to watch in the state’s largest classification may just be the Tift County Lady Blue Devils of head coach Jennifer Walls.
They ended the season with a flurry, winning 13 of their final 14 games down the stretch of the regular season, and capturing the Region 1-6A title with a 14-1 record. They’ll play their last regular season game against Coffee before starting the playoffs against Collins Hill next week.

Tift County returns to the top 10 after going on a hot streak that has seen the Blue Devils win eight games in a row, including four straight shutouts in the past week. Our updated 2025 Georgia high school softball ranking features a few changes from our Week 1 poll, with a new team taking over the top spot, as well as some new programs making their debut in this week’s top 10.
Taking over the top spot is the Veterans Warhawks. They are off to an amazing start to the season, with a 14-1 overall record, which includes a 5-1 start in Region 2-5A.

East Coweta falls two spots from their previous number one spot which Franklin Deloach‘s team occupied in our first poll of the 2025 season. That is a result of the back-to-back losses they suffered against Eastside, one of the two new teams in this week’s top 10.
The Eagles debut at the number four spot this week after being unranked in our first poll. They are 10-0 at the time of writing.
Loganville remains at number five, the same spot they began the season in our initial top 10 Georgia High School Softball ranking.
Creekview comes in at number six this week. The Grizzlies have just one loss on the season, and will still be one of the toughest teams for opponents to deal with in Class 5A in 2025.
The North Gwinnett Lady Bulldogs climb three spots from where they were ranked in our first top 10 ranking. They are our number seven team this week, with a 12-2 overall record on the season.
The Carrollton Trojans climb one spot from their previous spot, at number nine to the number eight spot in our latest top 10 ranking. They lost their first game of the year to Northgate, but have since rebounded with two straight wins.
Our number nine and ten teams are two new teams that we welcome to this week’s ITG Next Georgia updated softball top 10.

All season long, ITG Next will be ranking the top 10 Georgia high school softball teams in the state.
1. East Coweta (Class 6A)
The defending Class 6A state champion East Coweta Indians are picking right up where they left off with last year’s dominant run to the title.
You might say they are just continuing one of the most impressive multiyear streaks of winning involving any sports program, in any sport, and at any level in Georgia high school athletics.
Led by head coach Franklin DeLoach, East Coweta has advanced to the state finals for five straight seasons, beginning in 2020 when they won the championship and continuing to play for the title every year through last season, when they captured their second state championship over that stretch.
They lost just one game all season in 2024, finishing 37-1.
The Indians have won their region every year since 2014 – that’s 11 straight region titles – and have not lost a region game since the 2013 season.
At the time of writing, East Coweta is off to a 12-0 start to the 2025 softball season, with seven shutout wins in the 12 victories.
Yes, East Coweta is the No. 1 team in ITG Next’s Georgia high school softball rankings to start the 2025 season.
2. Veterans (Class 5A)
The Veterans Warhawks are off to a fast start, winning 10 of their first 11 games.
3. Buford (Class 6A)
The Buford Wolves are on a roll themselves, off to a 7-0 start and coming off a 7-0 shutout win over region foe Collins Hill. Senior Caroline Stanton pitched a no-hitter in the game, striking out 15 batters.
4. Creekview (Class 5A)
The defending Class 5A state champion Creekview Grizzlies are the No. 4 team in our first poll of the season on the heels of a 9-1 start. Their pitching has led the charge so far with three shutouts.
5. Loganville (Class 5A)
The school known for its standout baseball program also boasts one of the most successful softball programs over the past 27 years since launching the sport in 1998. Loganville’s softball team has advanced to the state playoffs every year except its first season and has won 11 region titles.
At the time of writing, Loganville is off to an 8-0 start to the 2025 season.
6. Lamar County (Class 1A-Division I)
Rounding out the lower half of ITG Next’s 2025 Georgia high school softball rankings is No. 6 Lamar County. The Trojans are undefeated through their first eight games. They are led by senior center fielder and power hitter Bailey Gunter.
7. North Cobb (Class 6A)
North Cobb’s softball Warriors just suffered their first loss of the year after winning their first nine games of the season, which included four shutouts. The 3-1 loss was to No. 9-ranked Carrollton.
8. Tift County (Class 6A)
Tift County lost its opening game of the year, a 1-0 pitching duel against Coffee, but has won five straight since, including the region-opener against Lowndes.
9. Carrollton (Class 6A)
10. North Gwinnett (Class 6A)
Following the undefeated 8-0 Carrollton Trojans, North Gwinnett rounds out the 10th and final spot.
At 6-1 North Gwinnett is hoping to get better cooperation from Mother Nature, which has affected more than one game and some standout performances, including a no-hitter last week from Victoria Na, which was halted after four innings due to lightning.
