2025 Georgia High School Football Game Predictions: Week 8

Phil Jones gives his score predictions for the top six games being played in Week 8 of the 2025 Georgia high school football season.

Camden County at Richmond Hill

This is the second region game for each Wildcat program after kicking off region play last week. Camden County hosted the Valdosta Wildcats at Chris Gilman Stadium, where they lost 63-19 to Valdosta. Richmond Hill made the long road trip to Tifton last week, where they defeated the Blue Devils 35-10.

Can head coach Travis Roland’s Camden County squad bounce back versus the Richmond Hill Wildcats of head coach Matt Lezotte?

Richmond Hill has a chance to improve to 2-0 in the region with a win and give them a big boost of confidence as the rest of the Region 1-6A teams await.

Can they do it, or will Camden County bounce back?

Phil’s Pick: Richmond Hill 31, Camden County 28

Valdosta at Colquitt County

Game 2 of region play between these two teams has the winner taking a major step toward securing a playoff berth in Region 1-6A.

Last week, the Colquitt County Packers traveled to Lowndes and came away on the wrong end of a 31-14 final score.

Valdosta also traveled for their first region game of the year to play against Camden County in Kingsland, Georgia. Valdosta won the game versus Camden County by a bunch.

Last year, Valdosta defeated Colquitt County 7-3 at Bazemore-Hyder Stadium in a defensive battle.

Will we see another game like that?

Phil’s Pick: Valdosta 28, Colquitt County 21

Lee County at Coffee

Lee County kicked off region play last week with a road trip to Thomas County Central, where the two teams battled each other in a good game before the Yellow Jackets put things out of reach.

Thomas County Central won the game, giving Lee County a rare two-game losing streak heading into this week’s matchup with Coffee.

This will be the second straight long road trip for the Lee County Trojans as they look for their first region win of the season.

Coffee won their region opening contest last week at Northside (Warner Robins), so a win over Lee County would put Coffee head coach Mike Coe’s Trojans in a good spot in Region 2-5A at 2-0.

Which Trojans team comes out on top?

Phil’s Pick: Lee County 21 Coffee 18

Pierce County at Cook

The Pierce County Bears of head coach Ryan Herring have looked solid so far this year and are coming off a win last week over Vidalia to improve to 6-0 on the season.

Cook is looking to establish some consistency this season. The Hornets are 4-2 and are coming off a bye week after looking impressive against Irwin County in a 38-0 win three weeks ago.

Cook has shown flashes of the team most fans were expecting to see this season, including a 13-point win over Brooks County and the victory over Irwin County. However, a loss to Callaway and a 30-point defeat at the hands of the Cairo Syrupmakers have kept the Hornets from establishing any momentum as they head into their Region 3-2A opener at home against the visitors from Blackshear, Georgia.

Can Cook get things rolling with a win?

Phil’s Pick: Pierce County 30, Cook 14

Thomasville at Worth County

This is a big game that could determine the region champion. Worth County is the top-ranked team and have looked almost unbeatable through its first six games, including last week’s region opening contest at Brantley County, a 49-0 victory for Worth County head coach Jeff Hammond’s Rams.

Thomasville is also highly ranked as the No. 3 team in our ITG Next 2025 Georgia high school football rankings for Class A1-Division I and has also played quite well, with the Bulldogs’ only blemish coming against Class 6A’s Thomas County Central.

Thomasville head coach Jonathan DeLay’s team won its region opener last week at home versus a good Jeff Davis team.

It’ll be yet another tough one in Sylvester, Georgia, as these two top teams battle it out for region supremacy. This might come down to home field advantage.

Phil’s Pick: Worth County 42, Thomasville 38

Toombs County at Swainsboro

This is as big as it gets as the defending Class 1A-Division I state champion Toombs County Bulldogs travel to Swainsboro, Georgia, to battle the undefeated Tigers.

The Bulldogs’ only loss came against Class 5A’s Rome at Barron Stadium earlier this season. Against everyone else, Toombs County head coach Buddy Martin’s team has looked every bit like the state champion it is, including against Tattnall County last week.

Swainsboro last played three weeks ago, a 21-14 win over Crisp County.

This is the region opener for both Region 3-1A-DI programs.

Phil’s Pick: Toombs County 21, Swainsboro 14

That’s our 2025 Georgia high school football game predictions for Week 8.
