2024 Georgia High School Football Game Predictions: Week 12

ITG Next broadcaster Phil Jones gives his score predictions for the top six games being played in Week 12 of the 2024 Georgia high school football season.

Lee County vs. Houston County

The undefeated Lee County Trojans host the Houston County Bears in their final regular season tune-up before they begin the state playoffs, which Lee County will enter as the No. 1 seed from Region 2-5A after capturing the region title last week in a win over Northside (Warner Robins).

Houston County will be looking to avoid a third straight region loss following their 41-31 loss against Thomas County Central last week.

Phil’s Pick: Lee County 45, Houston County 31

Douglas County vs. Carrollton

The Carrollton Trojans have plowed through one opponent after another in rather convincing fashion this year en route to an undefeated season and a No. 1 ranking in ITG Next’s Class 6A rankings

They’ll look to end the regular season by keeping that perfect record intact when they travel to Douglasville to take on the Douglas County Tigers, who are ranked No. 5 in our poll and have just one loss on their schedule so far.

All eyes will be on the quarterbacks in this one, with Julian “JuJu” Lewis leading the Trojans and DJ Bordeaux guiding the Tigers.

Phil’s Pick: Carrollton 38, Douglas County 21

Norcross vs. Brookwood

The Norcross Blue Devils return home after a tough road game last week at North Gwinnett, where they fell 27-21 against the Bulldogs. That was their first region loss of the season and puts them at 7-2 overall as they head into their regular season finale against the Brookwood Broncos.

Led by head coach Philip Jones, Brookwood is one of the hottest teams in the state. They’re coming off a 43-36 win over Duluth last week behind another strong performance from running back Brayden Tyson, who will be counted on once again this week versus the Blue Devils.

Norcross and head coach Keith Maloof have a trio of playmakers themselves in quarterback Dillon Mohammed, athlete Jahsaun “Sauce” Clarke, and running back Kobe Robinson.

Phil’s Pick: Brookwood 21, Norcross 20

Mill Creek vs. Buford

The Mill Creek Hawks should be rested for this one after enjoying an off week last week, while Buford played at Mountain View last week.

This game marks just the third time the two schools have met despite being located only 10 miles apart. Buford won the highly anticipated first matchup in 2022 by a 39-27 final, while Mill Creek won last year’s meeting 31-24.

For Buford, it’s win this game and win the region. If Mill Creek wins, it will set up a tie-breaker scenario between Buford, Mill Creek, and Collins Hill, who defeated Mill Creek earlier this year but lost to Buford.

Phil’s Pick: Buford 31, Mill Creek 28

Milton vs. Roswell

This big Region 5-7A matchup will feature two of the region’s top quarterbacks in Milton’s Luke Nickel and Roswell dual-threat signal-caller Trey Smith.

Last week Roswell battled Gainesville at home and came away with a thrilling 48-45 win.

Milton defeated Johns Creek to improve to 9-0 on the season, and this week they’ll try to finish off what would be a perfect, undefeated  regular season.

Milton has been the top-ranked team in ITG Next’s Class 5A rankings since their Week 1 win over Buford. Roswell is currently ranked #7 in our poll.

Can Roswell and head coach Chris Prewett pull off their second straight upset?

Phil’s Pick: Milton 45, Roswell 20

Savannah Christian vs. Toombs County

This is a battle of titans as two top-ranked teams face off against each other in Savannah. Both teams enter the game undefeated, with Toombs County ranked No. 1 in ITG Next’s Class 1A-Division I poll and Savannah Christian ranked No. 1 in ITG Next’s Class 1A-3A Private poll

Both of these teams are the overwhelming favorite to play for and win their respective state championships, but there’s still this game and the playoffs remaining before we get to that point of the season.

This is a game you don’t want to miss.

Phil’s Pick: Savannah Christian 21, Toombs County 17
