2022 Florida High School Football Pick 6: Week 6 Predictions

Cardinal Gibbons vs. American Heritage

The biggest game of the week – and the biggest of our Week 6 Florida high school football predictions – features Cardinal Gibbons vs. American Heritage. It’s a matchup that has been close in recent years, and the Chiefs and Patriots are two of Florida’s top teams this year. Cardinal Gibbons will be seeking its second consecutive win over American Heritage after picking up a 23-20 victory a year ago.

Prediction: American Heritage 24, Cardinal Gibbons 17

Apopka vs. Seminole

Two of Class 4M’s premier teams collide Friday night as Seminole travels to Apopka for a district matchup with the Blue Darters. Not only is this a matchup featuring two very good defensive teams, it’s also a rematch from last season’s Class 8A playoffs, a game in which Apopka topped the Seminoles 28-27 in a regional final.

Prediction: Seminole 24, Apopka 14

Bartram Trail vs. Fleming Island

Coming off a bye week, Fleming Island will travel to Bartram Trail for an intriguing matchup between two of the better teams in Class 4S. The Golden Eagles, led by four-star prospect Samuel Singleton, have one of the classification’s top rushing attacks, but they will certainly be put to the test against a Bartram Trail team that is undefeated at 5-0, including last week’s win in which the Bears put up 59 points against St. Augustine.

Prediction: Bartram Trail 28, Fleming Island 21

IMG Academy vs. Jones

After dropping their season opening contest at home to Miami Central, the Ascenders return to in-state competition this Friday night when they host a Jones team that is 2-2 on the year. The Fightin’ Tigers will be looking to avenge last season’s 62-3 rout at the hands of IMG Academy.

Prediction: IMG Academy 45, Jones 14

Wharton vs. Armwood

Armwood picked up one of the state’s most notable victories a week ago, as the Hawks upset Jesuit 27-10. With three straight wins under their belt, the Hawks now hit the road looking to carry over that momentum in a Class 3M contest against a good Wharton team, which also enters the week on a three-game winning streak.

Prediction: Wharton 24, Armwood 21

Colquitt County (GA) vs. Lincoln

The last of our Week 6 Florida football predictions features an out-of-state team, Georgia’s Colquitt County. Coming off a bye week, Lincoln will travel north to Moultrie, where a matchup with one of the state’s better teams awaits. The Trojans, who have outscored opponents a combined 189-30 this season, will certainly have to come to play against a strong Packers team that is currently 5-0 on the year.

Prediction: Colquitt County (GA) 31, Lincoln 17
