2021 Flag Football State Champions

In its first ever trip to the state championship, Newsome (Lithia) rose to the occasion and held off Western (Davie) for the Class 2A title in high school flag football on Sunday. The game was a dead heat throughout, with Davie Western taking a lead of 19-13 into the fourth quarter. A missed extra point would prove crucial, as Newsome would rush one in and tack on the extra with about 10 minutes left, moving the score to the final tally. From there, both defenses stiffened, with the Wolves providing a crucial stop with a minute left to go to tie a bow on the game. In Class 1A, Robinson snagged its impressive sixth state flag football title.
