The Lowndes Vikettes softball team finished their season with a record of 19-12 (4-4 in region play) and fought hard before ultimately falling in the second round of the GHSA state playoffs. Although the Vikettes’ season has come to an end, the names of several players are still in the media (and for good reason).
Numerous Vikettes have received All-Region honors, headlined by senior pitcher Haley Fowler, who has been named Region 1-AAAAAA Player of the Year for a second consecutive season.
Fowler, a Valdosta State commit, led the team with six home runs and 34 RBIs with a .382 batting average. On the mound, she threw for nearly 117 innings, collecting 67 strikeouts and recording a 1.62 ERA.
Joining her on the All-Region First Team are fellow Vikettes Kyra Irvin, Emilee Morris, and Sophie Sumner. Four more players (Rylin Hedgecock, Jacie Johns, Madison May, and Jada McGilberry) received Second Team honors.
Congratulations to all the Vikettes on their awards!
