Turner County Titans 2025 Football Preview

We tell you everything you need to know about the 2025 Turner County High School football team in this preview, including roster changes and what fans can expect from the Titans this season.

2024 Season Stats

  • Overall Record: 1-9
  • Points Scored: 229
  • Points Allowed: 382

Key Roster Losses

Turner County will miss last year’s leading receiver, Octavius “Big Play” Terry, who caught 23 passes for 473 yards and four TDs in 2024. Terry averaged 22.1 yards per catch over the last two seasons, and he was often targeted by opposing defenses with double team coverage. He was also effective from his cornerback position with 47 tackles and three interceptions over the last two seasons.

Demetrius Johnson is another wide receiver and cornerback not returning. He had 327 yards receiving and three TDs in 2024.

Gone is quarterback and athlete Cedric Hillmon, who passed for 938 yards with 11 TDs and had two more TDs rushing last season.

Linebacker Tyrone Perry signed with Reinhardt University, and offensive and defensive lineman Jacob Wilson signed with Kentucky Christian University.

Key Players Returning

The Titans will look to returning athlete Imerriun Carridine as a leader on both sides of the ball in 2025. The senior had one TD receiving and 292 yards receiving last season, averaging 22.5 yards per catch as a possession receiver. Carridine was a force on defense, recording 60 tackles last season from his defensive back spot.

Turner County’s leading rusher from 2024 will give the Titans strength in the run game this season as senior running back Curtis Grant returns. In 2024 he rushed for 798 yards and nine TDs, including a three-TD performance against Charlton County. He also had 191 yards receiving with four TDs as a receiver. Grant was also one of the team’s top tacklers in 2024 with 105 tackles, plus a sack and an interception.

Senior sack-master Amauri Lundy returns this season. He had 85 tackles last year, including 11 sacks.

What to Expect From the Turner County Titans in 2025

Head football coach Demario Barber returns for his second season with Turner County. The hope is for a better year in 2025 than last year, when the Titans won just one game.

This year’s team returns its leading scorer, leading rusher, and one of its top defensive players in Grant while also bringing back Lundy.

Perhaps the biggest concern facing Turner County this season is who will be the team’s QB after losing Hillmon and Jaden King, who both split time running the Titans’ offense last season.

A name to watch for in 2025 is freshman defensive end Draaon Smith, who had 50 tackles last year, including six tackles for loss.

2025 Season Prediction

Turner County will be improved in 2025 and finish 5-5.
