Atlanta pro soccer teams are preparing for the next season. The Atlanta United preseason began in February, and regular season MLS play begins March 3 against the Houston Dynamo. They will be on the road for the season opener at the BBVA Compass Center. This will be the team’s fourth season. They share the Mercedes-Benz Stadium with the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons. They will be coached by Gerardo Martino, who is in his second year as the team’s coach. The team was granted a berth to the playoffs a season ago, where they were eliminated in the first round because of penalties. Centre back Leandro Gonzalez Pirez is looking to capitalize on an impressive first season with Atlanta. He led the defense to be top five in the league last season.
