Top Uncommitted Recruits to Watch
Before Signing Day
As Signing Day draws near, there are still top uncommitted recruits from the Class of 2021 with decisions to make. While most highly rated recruits are already committed/signed and some already on campus, there are a few high rated recruits still uncommitted, with a few in the Top 100 overall. There are three recruits however that stick out above the rest that are uncommitted, which include a Top 5 overall player, a top RB, and a versatile LB.
JT Tuimoloau – DE – Eastside Catholic (WA)
There is no doubt who the top remaining uncommitted 2021 recruit going into Signing Day is, it is JT Tuimoloau. Tuimoloau, a 6’4 277 lb. defensive end from Eastside Catholic in Sammamish, WA, is the lone five-star remaining uncommitted in the Class of 2021. Tuimoloau is regarded as one of the Top 3 defensive ends in the country and is a consensus Top 10 recruit in the Class of 2021. A powerful and athletic defensive end, JT Tuimoloau played a pivotal role in Eastside Catholic winning the 2018 and 2019 Washington 3A state championships by having 18 combined sacks in the two years and plays basketball where he averaged nearly a double-double in his high school career. Tuimoloau released a Top 5 of Alabama, Ohio State, Oregon, USC, and Washington in December, and will be the most anticipated decision before Signing Day.
LJ Johnson – RB – Cy-Fair (TX)
The top uncommitted running back in the Class of 2021 is LJ Johnson from Cy-Fair in Cypress, Texas. Johnson is regarded as one of the Top 5 running backs in the Class of 2021, as well as a Top 50 recruit. Johnson was named the District 17-6A Offensive MVP, Texas 6A Second-Team All-State, District 17-6A Overall MVP, MaxPreps Second-Team Junior All-American, and District 17-6A Offensive newcomer of the Year during his three high school seasons. Johnson has dominated the Texas high school football scene since his sophomore season and has rushed for over 4,300 yards and 77 TDs during his high school career. Johnson released a Final 4 of LSU, Oklahoma, Texas, and Texas A&M in December, and will be a big pickup for one of these four schools on Signing Day.
Raesjon Davis – LB – Mater Dei (CA)
One of the more interesting players to watch is linebacker Raesjon Davis. Davis, a one-time LSU commit, is the top uncommitted linebacker. Davis is one of the most versatile linebackers in the country and is an excellent outside pass rusher. Davis had 43 tackles and 7.5 sacks for Mater Dei in Santa Ana, CA last season, and is one of the top overall linebackers in the Class of 2021. Davis recently released a Final 5 which includes LSU, Ohio State, Oregon, USC, and Vanderbilt, and will be a big pickup on defense for whichever team he signs with.
These three players are all highly touted and will look to make their decisions between now and Signing Day on February 3, 2021.
