While a majority of the state’s premier 2024 prospects made their collegiate decisions prior to the start of the 2023 Alabama high school football season, a few notable names across the state remain uncommitted. Here are the six highest-rated of that group, along with a few schools that are in the mix for each. (Recruiting rankings according to 247Sports Composite; players were uncommitted as of Saturday, September 2.)
LB Bradley Shaw (Hoover)
We begin with Shaw, the highest-rated of the 2024 Alabama high school prospects who remains uncommitted. The four-star Hoover linebacker is likely a future starter at the Power 5 level, and he hold offers from more than 25 collegiate programs, most notably Alabama, Auburn, and Clemson.
WR Mario Craver (Clay-Chalkville)
The state’s top uncommitted 2024 offensive prospect is Craver, a four-star wide receiver at Class 6A’s Clay-Chalkville. Craver holds 20+ collegiate offers, including Alabama and Florida.
TE JaCorey Whitted (McAdory)
Another prominent pass catcher, Whitted is arguably the top tight end in Alabama high school football. Rated as a four-star prospect, the versatile playmaker holds over 10 offers from collegiate programs across the country, including several in the SEC.
S Damian Thompson (Rogers)
The first of two defensive backs in this group is Thompson, a four-star safety at Rogers. A versatile player who has seen time on both sides of the ball in his high school career, Thompson has more than 10 collegiate offers, including some from programs that reside in Power 5 conferences.
S Kaleb Harris (Thompson)
An impact player on defense for one of the state’s top teams, Thompson safety Kaleb Harris is one of Alabama’s top uncommitted 2024 defensive backs. The three-star prospect has near 20 collegiate offers, including South Carolina and Georgia Tech, among others.
WR Jabari Murphy (Elmore County)
We conclude this list of the top uncommitted 2024 Alabama high school prospects with yet another pass catcher, Elmore County wide receiver Jabari Murphy. The three-star prospect holds at least 10 collegiate offers, including Mississippi State and West Virginia.
