Top 10 Florida High School Receivers Returning in 2022

Florida High School Receivers 2022

Out of all the positions in Florida high school football, wide receiver and tight end may be the deepest in 2022. The group is loaded with four- and five-star recruits, as well as multiple 1,000+ yard receivers. Following is our list of the top 10 Florida high school receivers returning for the 2022 season.

1. Brandon Inniss (American Heritage)

Inniss, the nation’s No. 1 2023 wide receiver recruit according to the 247Sports Composite, heads our list of Florida’s top 10 high school receivers. The five-star spent a majority of the 2021 season at quarterback for the Patriots, due to an injury to starter Blake Murphy. He accounted for more than 1,000 total yards, but with Murphy back at QB, Inniss returns to wideout, where he’s in line for a massive senior season.

2. Jalen Brown (Gulliver Prep)

Also a five-star prospect in the 2023 class, Brown is coming off a massive junior season in which he turned 56 catches into 1,033 yards and 11 touchdowns for the Raiders. Regarded as a top five player at the position nationally, Brown is likely a lock to rank among Florida high school football’s leading receivers in 2022.

3. Carnell Tate (IMG Academy)

A four-star prospect, Tate transferred to IMG Academy prior to the 2021 season and enjoyed a strong junior campaign. Don’t be surprised if Tate, a top-5 wide receiver nationally, ends up having a massive senior season with the Ascenders.

4. Pearce Spurlin (South Walton)

A four-star Georgia commit Spurlin is the state’s top tight end, as well as one of the top names at the position nationally. You certainly could make the argument that he should be higher on this list based on what he did a year ago – 1,404 receiving yards with 20 touchdowns.

5. Joshisa Trader (Miami Central)

Trader, one of the top wide receivers in the 2024 class, has the potential to be one of the highest-rated players at the position to come out of Florida in recent memory. Across six games a year ago with 5A state champion Miami Central, Trader totaled 592 receiving yards and six touchdowns.

6. Samuel M’Pemba (IMG Academy)

Another name that you could argue should be higher on this list of top 10 high school receivers is M’Pemba, a five-star prospect and one of the top overall athletes in the 2023 class. He saw time at multiple different positions at IMG Academy a year ago, with a majority coming at wide receiver, where he excels at 6-foot-4.

7. Robby Washington (Killian)

A four-star prospect, Washington is one of the top overall athletes in Florida. He does it all for Killian offensively, as well as in the return game. Washington caught 42 passes for the Cougars last season, accounting for 868 yards and 16 touchdowns in the process.

8. Jeremiah Smith (Chaminade-Madonna)

Smith is one of the top wide receivers in the 2024 class, as well as a Top 10 overall player nationally. The five-star prospect is coming off a 2021 season at Chaminade-Madonna in which he collected 667 receiving yards with seven touchdowns.

9. Hykeem Williams (Stranahan)

A four-star prospect, Williams is a versatile athlete at 6-foot-3, and a multi-sport superstar for Stranahan. On the football field, he’s one of the top receivers in the state, having totaled 750 yards and 11 touchdowns a year ago, while seeing some time on the defensive side of the ball as well.

10. Ric’Darious Farmer (Holy Trinity Episcopal)

While there are countless different options to choose from for the final spot on this list of top 10 high school receivers, it’s hard not to put Farmer, a four-star in the Class of 2024, here based on his sophomore season. Farmer, who’s also a key factor for the Tigers in the running game, posted 1,051 receiving yards and 18 receiving touchdowns last season.

Honorable Mention:

Aidan Mizell (Boone), Traylon Ray (North Florida Christian), James Randle (Mainland), James Madison II (St. Thomas Aquinas), Daquayvious Sorey (Chipley), William Fowles (Dade Christian), Tyree Patterson (Eustis), Zycarl Lewis (Carrollwood Day), Nathaniel Joseph (Edison), Raymond Cottrell (Milton)
