Having rated the Top-10 forwards returning for the 2022-23 high school basketball season, we now look at the best centers in the country.
1 – Xavier Booker (Cathedral, IN)
Holding the No. 1 ranking by a slim margin among the top high school basketball centers nationwide is Booker, a five-star prospect and Top-10 national player in the 2023 class from Cathedral High School in Indiana. A Michigan State commit, Booker is coming off a junior season in which he averaged 12.5 PPG, 6.7 RPG, and 2.3 BPG for a Fighting Irish team that went 26-6.
2 – Aaron Bradshaw (Camden, NJ)
A teammate of the nation’s top returning guard, DJ Wagner at Camden High School in New Jersey, Bradshaw holds the No. 2 ranking on this list of top high school basketball centers, just behind Booker for the top spot. Also a five-star prospect and Top-10 national player in the 2023 class, Bradshaw is a recent Kentucky commit.
3 – Baye Fall (Accelerated Schools, CO)
Coming in at No. 3 is Fall, yet another five-star prospect in the 2023 class. Currently uncommitted, Fall is an offseason transfer in Colorado, moving from Denver Prep Academy to Accelerated Schools
4 – Flory Bidunga (Kokomo, IN)
Bidunga, a five-star prospect and top-5 player nationally in the 2024 class, returns to Kokomo High School in Indiana after an impressive sophomore season in which he averaged 17.5 PPG, 13.3 RPG, and 5.3 BPG.
5 – Dennis Evans (Hillcrest, CA)
One of the better interior defensive players on this list, Evans, a highly rated four-star prospect in the 2023 class, comes in at No. 5 on our list of top high school basketball centers. Returning for Hillcrest High School in California, Evans is coming off a junior campaign in which he averaged 11.6 PPG, 10 RPG, and 7 BPG.
6 – Derik Queen (Montverde Academy, FL)
The first player from Florida to make this list is Queen, who returns for national powerhouse Montverde Academy. Queen is considered a five-star prospect and Top 20 player nationally in the 2024 class.
7 – Isaiah Miranda (Southern California Academy, CA)
Yet another notable name from California is Miranda, who transferred to Southern California Academy during the offseason from Commonwealth Academy in Massachusetts. Miranda is a highly rated four-star prospect in the 2023 class.
8 – Brandon Garrison (Del City, OK)
The No. 8 overall spot on this goes to Garrison, a four-star prospect in the 2023 class at Del City High School in Oklahoma. Garrison is currently committed to in-state Oklahoma State.
9 – JP Estrella (Brewster Academy, NH)
Coming in at No. 9 is yet another offseason high school basketball transfer. Estrella, who moved to Brewster Academy in New Hampshire from South Portland in Maine, is a four-star prospect in the 2024 class who is committed to Tennessee.
10 – Yves Missi (Prolific Prep, CA)
The final name on this list is Missi, a five-star prospect in the 2024 class. Missi also transferred during the offseason, joining Prolific Prep in California from West Nottingham in Massachusetts.
