Tift County Blue Devils 2025 Football Preview

We tell you everything you need to know about the 2025 Tift County High School football team in this preview, including roster changes and what fans can expect from the Blue Devils this season.

2024 Season Stats

  • Overall Record: 2-8
  • Points Scored: 169
  • Points Allowed: 290

Key Roster Losses

The Tift County defense took a hit with the graduation of several talented players on that side of the ball.

Starting defensive back and outside linebacker Jaden Nelson graduated and is now playing football for the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga.

His defensive backfield teammate, Ahmadre Woods, also graduated.

Linebacker Danny Freeman Jr. graduated and will be missed in 2025, while fellow linebacker McKenzie Graham left the team.

Tift County will miss two big bodies along the offensive line with the departure of offensive guards Joseph Forehand and Sawyer McCard.

Key Players Returning

Returning to the Blue Devils’ offense and defense in 2025 are several All-Region starters from a year ago, according to head football coach Jeff Littleton, who is entering his second season at Tift County.

“We will have nine starters returning on offense and five on defense,” Littleton said.

The offensive starters that are back include junior quarterback Damieon Dixon, who came on strong in the second half of last season; running back Kamari Holloman; Davie’on Dixon; Ogunlana Nuga; James Carr; Dai’Jon Hayes; Kaden Lawson; and Vandorian Simmons.

Defensively, the Blue Devils return Shurrod Rich, Tanner Fechner, Zyian Coley, Royal Scott, Bryan Melton, and Arman Carter.

What to Expect From the Tift County Blue Devils in 2025

There is no question that Tift County was a more competitive team in Littleton’s first season in 2024 despite the Blue Devils only notching two victories.

This spring Tift County hosted Langston Hughes, who competed in the Class 6A state title game last season, and the Blue Devils’ starters looked solid against the Panthers’ starting varsity players.

The improvement down the stretch last season coupled with the efforts in the spring have given Tift County fans and Littleton reason to be excited about what could be in 2025.

“We are progressing,” Littleton said. “We are stronger, faster, and we are playing with better physicality and confidence.”

2025 Season Prediction

Look for Tift County to contend for one of the four playoff spots in a wide-open Region 1-6A and to finish 6-5 overall in 2025.
