With the 2023 Florida high school football season set to conclude this week, it’s not too early to look ahead. With that thought in mind, we review the Class of 2025 and list the top rising senior at each position entering the 2024 season. (Recruiting rankings are according to 247Sports Composite.)
QB – Carter Smith (Bishop Verot)
The state’s top rising senior quarterback is Smith, who led Bishop Verot to an 11-2 record and a Class 2S regional final appearance this season. Smith, a four-star Michigan commit, posted a 62.4 CMP% with 2,223 yards and a 29:4 TD:INT ratio as a junior, while also rushing for an impressive 715 yards and 19 touchdowns on 103 attempts.

RB – Anthony Rogers (IMG Academy)
The top rising senior running back in Florida high school football is Rogers, who is in the conversation for the top player at the position in the 2025 class nationally. Rogers, a highly rated four-star prospect, rushed for 316 yards and 5 touchdowns on 41 attempts for the Ascenders this season, and he also caught 5 passes for 32 yards.

WR – Jaime Ffrench (Mandarin)
The top returning wide receiver in Florida is Ffrench, a five-star Alabama commit. Ffrench helped lead Mandarin to the Class 4M state championship game this season, compiling 1,048 yards and 11 touchdowns on 52 receptions along the way.

OL – Solomon Thomas (Raines)
Florida’s top 2025 offensive lineman is Thomas, who is in the conversation for the nation’s top player at the position. He is rated as a five-star prospect.

DL – Javion Hilson (Cocoa)
Florida’s top rising senior defensive lineman is Hilson, a four-star prospect who has helped lead Cocoa to the Class 2S state title game with 87 tackles, 25 TFL, and 14 sacks.

LB – Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng (IMG Academy)
The state’s top rising senior linebacker is Owusu-Boateng, who a four-star prospect at IMG Academy. Owusu-Boateng amassed 45 tackles and 6 TFL in eight games for an Ascenders defense that allowed only 9.9 PPG in 2023.

DB – DJ Pickett (Zephyrhills)
We conclude our look at the Florida high school football Class of 2025 with arguably the state’s top two-way player in Pickett, a five-star prospect at Zephyrhills. Pickett had 31 tackles and an INT, and he caught 52 passes for 1,033 yards and 15 touchdowns.
