Loud and proud, you see them on the sidelines at many different sporting events supporting their teams and entertaining the crowd. Beyond skilled, many of these athletes have literally been pushed to the sidelines and are not recognized as official sporting groups by their schools. That is the case for the University of North Florida’s small co-ed cheerleading team.
Stretch, run, flip, stunt, repeat. That is a typical day in a three-hour practice for the UNF Ospreys cheerleading team. Nathan Palmer is in his second year as head coach and is getting his team ready for the upcoming season. The ITG Next team was able to get a sneak peek at their pre-nationals practice back in early August.
