Sierra Wolf Named 2022 Northeast Florida Fall Female Scholar Athlete of the Year

Sierra Wolf, senior at Episcopal School of Jacksonville, has been named the ITG Next 2022 Northeast Florida Fall Female Scholar Athlete of the Year, presented by Wolfson Children’s Hospital, Baptist Health, and the Jacksonville Orthopaedic Institute.

Wolf plays both soccer and volleyball, where she excels at both sports. She also manages to stay on top of her academics with a 3.8 grade point average.

“I juggle school and athletics by focusing on academics first,” said Wolf. “I feel like that is most important because it is school before sports, but after school I do get in that mindset of being competitive and working hard. I think that corresponds with my school work because you work just as hard at sports as you do [at school] and you give your full 100%. I feel like I can reflect that back onto my school work and put a full 110% on that too.”

Wolf was awarded volleyball team MVP in 2021 and earned two varsity letters in the sport. She also plays beach volleyball, where she has two additional varsity letters.

As the 2020 soccer team MVP, Wolf maintains her grades while adding value to the team. The girls recently defeated Trinity Christian Academy in the playoff game with a score of 8-0 in the 2021 girls soccer district championship. Wolf was also the recipient of the Soccer Team Coach’s Award in 2019.

By maintaining a high GPA and achieving milestones in athletics, Wolf serves as a great example for up-and-coming girls in sports.

“Some advice I would give to younger girls is do not be afraid to ask for help,” said Wolf. “Do not be afraid to ask for advice from coaches and teachers. You won’t be able to grow without asking for help.”

Wolf began playing soccer around second grade. She began playing volleyball in sixth grade, a few years later. She loves the competitiveness of both sports, and plans on playing volleyball in college. She is currently undecided on which university she will commit to.

Hoping to commit soon, Wolf will continue to maintain her high GPA as well as work hard as an athlete.

“I feel great maintaining my academics and getting awards for both sports,” said Wolf. “Sports and school both challenge me and want me to be better. It creates a stronger person and a stronger player on the field. I love the environment at Episcopal.”
