Riverview Sarasota High School Lacrosse Player Susan Lowther Named ITG Next Florida Female Athlete of the Month for April 2024
Based on her play in March, Riverview Sarasota lacrosse player Susan Lowther, a senior, has been voted the ITG Next Florida Female Athlete of the Month for April 2024, receiving 46.33% of the possible votes over three additional finalists. Those finalists were Braden River flag football player Cydnee Brooks, Bartow softball player Katelynn Oxley, and Middleburg softball player Kerra Clarida.
Lowther, a Clemson commit, helped lead the Riverview High School girls lacrosse team to a combined 5-3 record during March, posting some impressive performances along the way.
Across seven games during March, Lowther compiled a stat line of 43 goals, 29 assists, and 72 points total. Over that span, Lowther had double-digit points in five of those games, as well as a 10-goal performance in a 23-11 win over Academy of the Holy Names back on March 27 that tied a season-high.
Performances such as this have been a mainstay of Lowther’s 2024 season, as she currently ranks among the state’s leaders in overall goals for the year. Lowther’s play is also a big reason why Riverview Sarasota sits at 10-6 on the year entering the 2A playoffs.
Across 16 games so far this season, Lowther has scored 93 goals and racked up 50 assists, which translates to 143 points total to lead the Rams. Lowther is also averaging 5.8 goals per game, along with 3.1 assists per game and 8.9 points per game.
In all, Lowther also has eight games of double-digit points, headlined by a season-high 16 in the aforementioned win over Academy of the Holy Names. Lowther also has two double-digit goal games and five games of at least five assists.
Congratulations once again to Riverview Sarasota’s Susan Lowther, the April 2024 ITG Next Florida Female Athlete of the Month.
