During the 2022 cycle, Texas A&M football brought to College Station one of the best – and perhaps most-hyped – recruiting classes the sport has seen. With that group of five-stars now making an impact on the field for the Aggies, we revisit Texas A&M’s 2022 class and look at each of the top eight prospects from that group. (Recruiting rankings courtesy of the 247Sports Composite.)
Walter Nolen
The highest-rated prospect in Texas A&M football’s 2022 recruiting class, Nolen is the first of the five-stars we revisit here. He was considered a national top-five player while at Powell High School in Tennessee and also was rated the No. 1 defensive lineman in the entire 2022 class. Nolen came to College Station after a truly special senior season in which he had 93 tackles, 28 TFL, and 17 sacks.
Shemar Stewart
Not far behind Nolen was Stewart, another five-star who was rated as a Top 10 player nationally out of Monsignor Pace High School in Florida. Stewart was also among the top defensive linemen in the 2022 class, and he too joined the Aggies after a great senior season – he had 85 tackles, 40 TFL, and 14 sacks in 2021.
Evan Stewart
Perhaps Texas A&M’s most impactful true freshman this season, Stewart came to College Station as arguably the No. 1 wide receiver in the 2022 class. Attending Liberty High School in Texas, Stewart had over 2,000 receiving yards, including 487 yards and 3 touchdowns as a senior.
LT Overton
Originally in the 2023 class, Overton reclassified to 2022 last spring before committing to Texas A&M, and is now making an impact with the Aggies a year earlier than most expected. Overton came to College Station from Georgia’s Milton High School after a 2021 junior season in which he had 54 tackles, 16.5 TFL, and 7.5 sacks.
Gabriel Brownlow-Dindy
The final five-star defensive lineman in the Aggies 2022 recruiting class, Brownlow-Dindy came to Texas A&M from Lakeland High School in Florida. Brownlow-Dindy did not play much during his 2021 senior season with the Dreadnaughts due to an injury, but he did collect seven TFL and 4 sacks when on the field.
Conner Weigman
Weigman was one of the top quarterbacks in the 2022 class, coming to Texas A&M from in-state Bridgeland High School. A dual-threat option at the position, Weigman accounted for 3,200+ total yards and 38 touchdowns as a high school senior in 2021.
Denver Harris
Also an in-state prospect, Harris came to Texas A&M from North Shore High School, where he was considered one of the top cornerbacks in the 2022 class. Harris was a key piece in the secondary at North Shore, where he was a multi-year impact player for one of Texas’ top teams.
Chris Marshall
The last of the five-stars in the 2022 recruiting class at Texas A&M was Marshall, another in-state product. He attended Fort Bend Marshall and came to College Station after a 2021 season that included 466 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns.
