Peter Pesansky Standout for Jesuit Football

Peter Pesansky Standout for Jesuit Football

At 6-foot-2 and 240 pounds as a freshman, Jesuit DL Peter Pesansky is a handful.

Over and over again this past season, we saw Pesansky beat offensive linemen upfield before the offensive linemen ever got into their pass sets. During run plays, the freshman consistently crossed the face of blockers and found his way into the backfield.

The ability to collapse the pass pocket and push the line of scrimmage back during run plays is a necessity to be a good defensive lineman. And Pesansky is pretty good at it. He has a frame to put on more good weight and increase his explosion, especially once he gets into a college weight room.

At some point, when a defensive lineman causes too much disruption, the offense has to make an adjustment to slow him down. One way is to double him or chip him (add two bodies). This tactic didn’t work that often versus Pesansky this season.

Although he doesn’t throw touchdowns like his older brother, QB Joseph Pesansky, who tossed 35 TDs this year for the 14-1 Tigers as a senior, Peter Pesansky is a big-time prospect for 2024.
