Park Vista High School Flag Football Player Jordana Weil Named ITG Next Florida Female Athlete of the Month for March 2024

Coming as a result of her on-field play during February, Park Vista flag football quarterback Jordana Weil has been voted the ITG Next Florida Female Athlete of the Month for March 2024 over three additional finalists. Weil received 46.58% of the votes to be awarded the honor over Lakewood basketball player Alahni Lovett, Pace flag football player Amaya Pablo, and Oxbridge Academy softball player Isabella Ruggiero.

You will not find a more impressive February, the month in which the 2024 Florida high school flag football season began, than this one with what the Lady Cobras did on the field.

During the month, Park Vista went undefeated 3-0 to begin the year with victories over Cardinal Newman, Morningside Academy, and Lake Worth. Not only was the undefeated start impressive, but the way that the Lady Cobras did it was the biggest takeaway, as they outscored all three opponents a combined 123-0.

As for Weil, her impact toward Park Vista’s success was evident from the quarterback position, beginning with a stellar showing in the season-opening 38-0 shutout win against Cardinal Newman. Against the Lady Crusaders, Weil completed 32 of 40 passes for 242 yards with five touchdowns and an interception at the helm of the Park Vista offense, while also rushing for 9 yards on two attempts.

Next up for Weil and the Lady Cobras was a 47-0 shutout win over Morningside Academy on Feb. 23, which also happens to be her best single-game performance so far in 2024. In the win, Weil completed 22 of 30 passes for 221 yards and five touchdowns, while also rushing for 3 yards on one attempt.

Weil’s final performance of the shortened month came a few days later on Feb. 27 when she had yet another efficient day throwing the football, completing 16 of 21 passes for 153 yards and four touchdowns in a 38-0 win over Lake Worth. Weil also had her first rushing touchdown of the season in the victory, as she accounted for 16 yards and the score on two attempts with her legs.

Across February overall, Weil owned a combined stat line of an impressive completion percentage of 76.9% (70 of 91 passes completed), which translated to 616 yards passing and a TD-to-interception ratio of 14-to-1. In those three games, Weil also rushed for a combined 28 yards and one touchdown on five attempts.

Weil’s play has helped Park Vista to an overall 8-3 record through mid-March, and the quarterback is certainly a big reason why.

Over her first eight games of the 2024 season, Weil posted a combined completion percentage of 69.8% with 1,760 yards passing and a TD-to-interception ratio of 29-to-11. Weil also rushed for 67 yards and a score on 10 attempts, with Park Vista also holding a combined 7-1 record across those eight games.

Over that span Weil also had six games with more than 200 yards passing and six games in which she threw at least four touchdown passes.

Congratulations once again to Park Vista flag football’s Jordana Weil, the ITG Next Florida March 2024 Female Athlete of the Month.
