Brooks County Football Player Omari Arnold Voted ITG Next Georgia Male Athlete of the Month
Congratulations to Brooks County RB Omari Arnold, who was voted as the ITG Next Georgia Male Athlete of the Month for November. The Trojans senior received the majority of the votes to outlast three other candidates who were also presented to our audience for the monthly recognition.
During the month of October, Arnold led his team to a 5-0 record, with wins over Turner County, Clinch County, Charlton, Lanier County, and Atkinson County. In those five games, he led the Brooks County offense to 300 points. During that stretch, Arnold rushed 74 times for 1,120 yards and 21 touchdowns.
For the season so far, he has 1,514 yards rushing with 25 touchdowns on 122 carries and has added 30 yards receiving, 243 yards on kickoff returns, and 230 yards on punt returns. That gives the outstanding Brooks County back a total of 2,017 all-purpose yards.
Arnold has been a three-year starter in his football career and played part-time as a freshman. During his entire playing career at Brooks County, Arnold has run for 5,528 yards on 580 carries with 78 touchdowns. He has also caught 64 passes for 702 yards and nine TDs. When you add 480 yards on kickoff returns, 438 yards on punt returns, and 98 yards from four picks, he has 7,246 career all-purpose yards during his four years at Brooks County.
The thing is, he’s not finished. It will be Omari Arnold leading his Brooks County teammates into the playoffs, with fans of the Trojans and his coach hoping to get back to a third straight 2A state championship game.
