North Miami Senior High School Basketball Player Jadore Hayes Named ITG Next Florida Female Athlete of the Month for February 2024
North Miami Senior High School sophomore basketball player Jadore Hayes has been voted the ITG Next Florida Female Athlete of the Month for February 2024, which comes as a result of her on-court play during January. Hayes received 50.39% of the possible votes, which came over a trio of additional finalists that included Springstead soccer player Ava Kanaar, Nova basketball player Jaelynn Housey, and Hilliard soccer player Jaycie Noble.
Hayes saw action in eight games for the Lady Pioneers in January, with North Miami holding a combined 5-4 record during that month.
Across those eight games, Hayes was a force on both ends of the court by averaging a double-double at 24.4 points per game and 22 rebounds per game to stuff the stat sheet. Yes, Hayes not only averaged a double-double per game for the Lady Pioneers, but averaged 20/20 in January along with 0.9 assists, 0.6 steals, and 4.8 blocks per game.
Each of her January games featured a double-double for the North Miami star, who also posted five 20/20 games. Hayes flirted with a 30/30 game, which came via a 28-point, 30-rebound, and five-block showing in a 54-30 win over South Dade on Jan. 31.
A few of Hayes’ other big performances include a 59-38 win over Coral Reef in which she had 33 points, 20 rebounds, four assists, and eight blocks, as well as a 31-point, 25-rebound, three-steal, and five-block showing in a 68-19 route of Edison.
Hayes’ additional 20/20 showings came against Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart and Miami Northwestern, both of which were losses.
One of Florida’s most impressive sophomores this season, Hayes averaged a phenomenal 20.8 points, 20.3 rebounds, 0.5 assists, 0.9 steals, and 5.4 blocks per game across 20 games for a North Miami team that went 11-12, falling in the second round of the Class 5A-District 15 tournament.
Of those 20 games, Hayes had a double-double in each with eight of them being 20/20 games. Hayes also scored 20 points or more in 11 games, scored 30 points or more in three games, and pulled down at least 20 rebounds in 14 matchups.
