North Marion Shortstop Deric Fabian Named Mr. Baseball

On June 17, Florida Dairy Farmers named North Marion shortstop Deric Fabian Mr. Baseball following an outstanding senior season this past spring.

Fabian, who is committed to the University of Florida, helped lead the Colts to a 21-9 record and to the Class 4A state championship game back in May.

While North Marion fell short of a state title, it was still quite the year for the Colts and for Fabian. He finished this season with a .462 batting average, 52 RBIs and 13 home runs, according to MaxPreps. Fabian’s RBI and home run numbers were good enough for best on the team.

We’ll see how he does moving forward in his collegiate career.
