At 12 years old, Mikaila Ulmer has already started her own company, been on the TV show “Shark Tank,” and now has NFL investors, like Arian Foster, buzzing about her Me & the Bees Lemonade business.

The company started in Austin, Texas when Ulmer used her great-grandmother’s flaxseed-lemonade recipe from the 1940s. The recipe is unique in that it that uses Texas wildflower honey as sweetener. The company’s mission is to save the honey bees, and does so by donating a portion of the profits to organizations that fight colony collapse disorder. Yes, at 12 years old Mikaila Ulmer is trying to save the world. Who wouldn’t want to invest in a company with a mission like that?

Having already received $60,000 from “Shark Tank” the company definitely has supporters. And now the Houston Chronicle reports, NFL players Arian Foster, Glover Quin and eight other current/ former NFL stars have joined together to invest $810,000 into Ulmer’s company. Foster told ESPN how he has been inspired by Ulmer’s entrepreneurship: “You always have to be open and willing to learn, and she is. I’m learning from her too.” And Ulmer told ESPN that thanks to this investment: “…we have a better chance at achieving our goals. That keeps me pumped and excited every day.”

These NFL players are showing what a substantial impact they can have off the field. By supporting Me & the Bees Lemonade they are making a global impact and also making a girl’s dreams come true.  This is truly what it means to live in the game.
