Navarre Football 2022 Team Preview

We tell you everything you need to know about the 2022 Navarre football team in this preview. We take a look at roster changes and what fans can expect from the team this season.

2021 Stats

  • Overall Record: 5-4
  • Points Scored: 212
  • Points Allowed: 207

Key Losses

Navarre is tasked with replacing a notable amount of production from last season on offense, headlined by the quarterback/running back duo of Kyle Chambers and Christopher Decorte. Two-way player Derek Percivalle and Chase Richardson are two more key losses from the Raiders’ offense, both of whom were among Navarre’s top receivers a year ago.

On defense, Navarre must replace two of its top three tacklers in Devin Wright and Hunter Crowder, a duo that combined for over 200 tackles in 2021. Deuce Nedd and Marvin Sacdalan are also key losses in the Raider secondary, while Sebastian Melendez, Jadan Moon, Nicholas Ducati, and Lemuel Wilson have all moved on from the front seven.

Who’s Back

Headlining the returning names for the Navarre defense is linebacker Christian Caballero, a rising senior who led the Raiders with 125 tackles in 2021. Alongside Caballero, the Raiders also return Mack Smith, Kiohne Moso, and Levron Mckinnie in the front seven, while Connor Black is another name to know on the Navarre defense.

Offensively, Navarre returns quarterback Hunter Pfiester at the helm of the Raiders’ offense, while Terence Marshall and Jadon Reese are the headline names at wide receiver. The emergence of a few players into bigger roles at running back could be key for the Raiders in 2022, with Eddie Love Jr. a player to watch out for.

What to Expect

After missing the playoffs a year ago, Navarre returns a notable amount of production, particularly on defense. The Raider defense should again be a strength for Navarre, while the offense has the potential to be strong as well, especially if the Raiders are able to replace the lost production at running back. Overall, expect Navarre to be in playoff contention in 2022, and for the Raiders’ defense to be one of the best in Florida Class 4S-District 1.

Prediction

Navarre will win six games and be in playoff contention.
