The mindset is changing in Lynn Haven. Coach Jeremy Brown has the Dolphins preparing for a breakout year. Quarterback Peyton Calhoun and Runningback Destin Coates (combined 36 TDs) are back and with 6 starters off last year’s defensive unit returning, this puts the playoffs well in their sites.

Learning how to deal with adversity is a lesson this team dealt with last season and hopefully that experience will be a positive for the 2016 campaign. The Dolphins lost 5 games by a touchdown or less and suffered injuries to key players at crucial times in the season. So Coach Brown’s thoughts are to emphasize the importance of winning games with a team effort.

A solid defensive front will anchor this unit for Mosley and 4 -year starter Trent Crum at Free Safety will bring experience and stability. The Hardrick brothers, DL Martavius and LB Jerian, will be counted on to provide solid efforts each game day. Look for DE Jamaal Henderson and CB John Miller to contribute in their roles.

Explosive players RB Destin Coates (1403 yds. rushing) and QB Peyton Calhoun (1463 yds. passing) are being looked upon to be the workhorses. They will be depending on a young and inexperienced offensive line that will have to mature quickly for the Dolphins to be successful.

The game the Dolphins have circled is District and community rival Arnold High. It’s a very important to the playoff race, but on some levels as important to bragging rights and pride around town. Taking pride in the community is part of what Coach Brown is trying to instill in his players. “It is about preparing these young men to be good citizens and positive role models.” Coach brown continues, “we focus on the student in student-athlete as much as the athlete.”
