Marquis Mitchell Dominating the Leaderboard

Mt. Zion baseball has been on fire this year, thanks in large part to sophomore second baseman Marquis Mitchell. He has accounted for 23 of his team’s 107 runs in the eight games that the statistics were pulled from.

Mitchell’s 7.19 60-yard dash speed also helps him while stealing bases, as he leads the state with 27 stolen bases.

Marquis had a season-high four RBIs earlier this month in a 20-3 win over McDonough.

Overall, the Mt. Zion Bulldogs have been on a tear so far, averaging over 14 runs a game after a loss to Forest Park.

The remaining schedule doesn’t pose too much of a challenge, so the Bulldogs should enter the playoffs hot.
