Maine High School Football May Be Pushed to Summer 2021
Maine high school football may be pushed to summer 2021.
Across the country, many states decided to play football in the fall like usual while taking extra precautions to keep players and fans safe from the coronavirus. Some states, however, decided to opt out of game play and push the season back until the start of February.
In Maine, it’s looking like game play is going to be pushed back even further, all the way to the summer, due to the cold weather and continuing pandemic.
“February and March are not realistic for football in Maine. That might work in other states, but not here,” said Mike Bisson, MPA assistant executive director.
