Peter Verhoef has swum in Olympic trials, coached Olympic swimming gold medalists, and coached Division II national champions. Now, he welcomes a new challenge: coaching one of the greatest swimming programs in the country.
Verhoef moved to Jacksonville from Charlotte, North Carolina. The former Georgia Bulldog athlete coached a Division II program at Queens University, where he created a strong program and had multiple swimmers go on to win national championships. He also coached swimmers as they prepared for the 2012 and 2016 Olympics.
