Korey Foreman Is the Next Great Pass Rusher

Korey Foreman is the No. 1 Class of 2021 prospect in the nation, according to 247Sports Composite. He is from Centennial High School in Corona, CA, and is already being projected by scouts to be a future first-round pick in the NFL Draft.

Foreman plays defensive end and stands at 6-foot-4, 265-pounds. He has the build of a top-tier pass rusher and will only continue to grow into his frame.

Foreman had offers from over 25 Division I programs, including some of the best in the country like Ohio State, Clemson and Alabama. He was personally recruited by coaches like Steve Sarkisian and Brent Venables, some of the best in all of college football. If you’re wondering if this kid lives up to the hype, believe me, he does.

As a junior in 2019, he made MaxPreps Junior All-American first team, MaxPreps All-California first team, All-CIF Division 1, and Los Angeles Times All-Area. Not bad if you ask me. If that wasn’t impressive enough, 247Sports ranks Foreman as the 12th-best high school prospect all-time. That’s special.

He’s being compared to current Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett, who was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. The crazy thing is Foreman actually ranks higher as a prospect than Garrett, and Foreman has a similar build and measurements to Garrett while still being in high school.

Foreman also stands out among his peers from his home state. He is the only five-star prospect from California, as well as the only prospect from California in the top 40 of the 2021 recruiting class.

Centennial is not part of the Trinity League like some of the other top programs in Southern California, but it is still one of the best in the nation and ranks third in the state. The blanks are frequently in the CIF playoffs and competing for state titles. Foreman is competing against top-tier talent and other future Power Five players and is dominating doing so.

It appears like Foreman preferred to stay close to home for his college career, as he officially committed to the University of Southern California in January. I find this a bit surprising considering the offers he had from many other blue-blood programs, but many great players have come from USC. Foreman could very well be the next in that lineage.

He will only continue to get stronger and more acclimated to the physicality of football in a Power Five conference and eventually the NFL. Look to see Foreman playing on Sundays in a few years and expect to hear his name called a lot.
