Jefferson Christian Academy Girls Basketball Player Jada Washington Named ITG Next Alabama Female Athlete of the Month for January 2023
Jefferson Christian basketball player Jada Washington, who ranks among the state’s top scorers as a sophomore, has been voted the ITG Next Alabama January 2023 Female Athlete of the Month, receiving 51.90% of the possible votes. The vote was based on her play in December, a month that included some special performances by the Eagles standout.
One of the team’s leading scorers, Washington averaged a noteworthy 29 PPG, 7.5 RPG, 3.3 APG, and 3.5 SPG in December, helping lead Jefferson Christian on an impressive month-long run.
Washington scored a season-high 47 points in a 77-34 win over Indian Springs on December 16. That performance came just over two weeks after her previous best game, a 55-33 win against Talladega County Central on December 1. During that contest, Washington posted a double-double with 31 points and 14 rebounds.
In a season full of noteworthy performances, Washington is averaging 23.5 PPG, along with 8.5 RPG, 3.4 APG, and 3.5 SPG. She’s also shooting 40% from the field this season.
