Coach Kersey has taken quite a challenge in taking on the job of turning the Royals football program around. Not only did he see two 1000 yard rushers graduate, he only has 7 total returners for this upcoming year. “We are very young and we need a lot of practice and playing experience for us to become the championship caliber team we desire to be” states Coach Kersey.
“The players are very coachable and have a desire to be successful and make the community proud of them,” and that is what makes this job worth it he says. On top of that the Royals have 7 players with over a 3.4 GPA.
Look for 6’6” 320 lb offensive lineman, Cade Diamond to be in the forefront on the offensive side and senior linebacker Matthew Saylor, last year’s leading tackler to head up the defense.
This season may have some up and downs for the Royals but they will be better for it as they work hard to make it a successful one.
