Top 10 Quarterbacks Entering 2025 High School Football Season

While there is always likely to be debate, it’s hard to argue against the fact that quarterback is the most important position on the football field, and when looking at the current crop in high school football, there are truly some elite names.

Yes, even despite the likes of Bryce Underwood and Keelon Russell having moved on to the collegiate level, high school football is still home to some truly elite prospects, with many already household names.

However, when looking at this season’s crop of quarterbacks, who are some of the best of the best in high school football expected to be this fall?

Here is a look at ITG Next’s preseason ranking of the nation’s Top 10 quarterbacks entering the 2025 high school football season, regardless of class.

10. Jake Fette, Senior, Del Valle (TX)

We begin at No. 10 with a senior in Fette, who attends Del Valle High School in Texas. The Arizona State commit completed 60.7% of passes for 2,488 yards and a 32:1 TD:INT ratio across 11 games, while also rushing for 589 yards and 11 scores on 77 attempts.

9. Kavian Bryant, Junior, Westwood (TX)

Similar to Fette, quarterbacks from Texas are featured often on this list, with the next being Bryant from Westwood High School. An uncommitted junior, Bryant returns as a starter at Westwood coming off a sophomore campaign in which he completed 82.2% of passes for 2,442 yards and a 34:3 TD:INT ratio, while also rushing for 709 yards and 11 scores.

8. Landon Duckworth, Senior, Jackson (AL)

Duckworth returns this season as one of the headline names for a Jackson program that is expected to be among the best in Alabama. The South Carolina commit completed 66.7% of passes for 3,439 yards and a 39:10 TD:INT ratio a year ago for the AHSAA 4A champions, while also rushing for 648 yards and 12 scores across 15 games.

7. Bowe Bentley, Senior, Celina (TX)

Bentley, an Oklahoma commit, is coming off a monster junior season at Celina High School in Texas. Leading the Bobcats to a state title at 16-0 overall, Bentley threw for 3,211 yards with a 47:7 TD:INT ratio, while also rushing for 923 yards and 16 touchdowns.

6. Elijah Haven, Junior, Dunham School (LA)

Starting with Haven, the next six quarterbacks to conclude this list are one’s that we would consider as five-star recruits entering this season. Haven, who attends Dunham School in Louisiana, is coming off a sophomore season in which he completed 65.4% of passes for 1,847 yards and a 27:4 TD:INT ratio across 10 games, while also rushing for 429 yards and 12 touchdowns on 74 attempts.

5. Keisean Henderson, Senior, Legacy School of Sport Sciences (TX)

Kicking off a senior-heavy top five is Henderson, a Houston commit who returns this fall at Texas’ Legacy School of Sport Sciences. A year ago, Henderson completed 65.7% of passes for 2,689 yards and a 25:6 TD:INT ratio, while also rushing for 347 yards and seven scores.

4. Ryder Lyons, Senior, Folsom (CA)

California’s top quarterback this season resides at Folsom High School in Lyons, a highly-touted BYU commit. Lyons is coming off a junior season in which he completed 68.1% of passes for 3,011 yards with a 46:6 TD:INT ratio, while also rushing for 585 yards and 14 more scores across 13 games.

3. Jared Curtis, Senior, Nashville Christian (TN)

A Georgia commit, Curtis returns as a starter this fall for Tennessee’s Nashville Christian. Last season, Curtis completed 70.2% of passes for 2,830 yards with a 40:3 TD:INT ratio, while also rushing for 637 yards and 18 touchdowns on 88 attempts, across 13 games.

2. Dia Bell, Senior, American Heritage (FL)

The 2025 Elite 11 MVP, Bell is a multi-year starter returning for one of the nation’s premier teams, Florida’s American Heritage. Bell, a Texas commit, is coming off a junior season in which he completed 70.6% of passes for 2,597 yards and a 29:6 TD:INT ratio during his 11 games played, while also rushing for 561 yards and five scores on 67 attempts.

1. Faizon Brandon, Senior, Grimsley (NC)

ITG Next’s top high school football quarterback entering the 2025 season comes from the state of North Carolina in Brandon, a returning starter at Grimsley High School. Currently committed to Tennessee, Brandon completed 77.1% of passes for 2,814 yards with a 35:2 TD:INT ratio a year ago across 16 games, while also rushing for 625 yards and nine scores on 78 attempts.
