Gymnastics State Champions 2021
Newnan and North Oconee dominated at the GHSA Gymnastics State Championships last Saturday, sweeping every category for titles in their respective classifications. Individually, Rubylyn Goad and Mikayla Burton led the charge for Newnan, racking up a combined 77.181 points. North Oconee had all three gymnasts place in the top five individually, and that greatly helped them secure a championship. This is both Newnan and North Oconee’s second gymnastics state title, with Newnan last winning in 2008 and North Oconee winning in 2019.
