Fort White Quarterback Tyler Jefferson Transfers to Hawthorne

Fort White quarterback Tyler Jefferson will be in a different uniform come the fall. On June 14, the announcement came out via social media that the junior gunslinger was leaving the Indians’ program and would be transferring to Hawthorne for his remaining two years.

Jefferson played in nine games for Fort White last season and threw for almost 700 yards and four touchdowns, according to MaxPreps. Additionally, he also had nearly 500 yards on the ground and seven touchdowns.

The Hornets finished 11-3 in 2020 and fell to the Baker Gators in the Class 1A state championship.

Jefferson has begun to garner the attention from Division 1 schools over the last season or so and should make Hawthorne a team to watch again in Class 1A come the fall.

We’ll see how he fairs come the start of the season.
