Emerging Top Prospects in Florida High School Baseball

Florida high school baseball has a number of top prospects in the Class of 2022 who are known on a national level, a group that includes Elijah Green, Jackson Ferris, Brandon Barriera, and more.

While those prospects are taking center stage this season, some other names have emerged among the country’s top players in the Classes of 2023, 2024, and 2025. Who are some of these names you will be hearing more about in the coming months and years?

Aidan Miller

The top third baseman in the Class of 2023, Aidan Miller is a two-way standout from Mitchell High School who has also seen time on the travel baseball circuit with Top Tier Roos American, as well as the Toronto Blue Jays Scout Team. An Arkansas commit with impressive tools across the board, Miller is enjoying a phenomenal sophomore season in which he is batting .571 in 13 games and boasts a 1.14 ERA on the mound.

Braden Holcomb

Arguably the top shortstop in the Class of 2023, Braden Holcomb is a multi-sport athlete at Foundation Academy who has enjoyed a strong start to his junior season by batting .475 across 14 games. A Vanderbilt commit, Holcomb has also showcased his powerful right-handed swing on the travel baseball scene with Power Baseball.

Arjun Nimmala

Right there in the conversation with Holcomb is Arjun Nimmala, the top shortstop in the Class of 2023. A Florida State commit, Nimmala attends Strawberry Coast High School, while also playing travel baseball with Ostringers Baseball Academy.

Chase Mobley

Undoubtedly the top Class of 2024 players in Florida high school baseball is Chase Mobley. He’s also arguably the top pitcher in the country. Attending Plant City High School, as well as having played with Canes National and Ballers Baseball, the sophomore has posted a 0.65 ERA in 32.1 IP this season, as well as batting .341 in 14 games.

Carter Smith

The PG 13u Player of the Year, Carter Smith is a talented shortstop from the Class of 2025 who attends Bishop Verot High School. Another member of Canes National, the freshman has appeared in 14 games so far this season, driving in five runs with two doubles.

Jacob Kendall

Joining Smith among the Class of 2025’s top shortstops is Jacob Kendall, who attends Bartram Trail High School. A strong hitter with emerging power in his left-handed swing, Kendall has also played his travel baseball with 5 Star National.
