Cocoa vs. Treasure Coast
We begin our Florida high school Week 6 predictions with a big Class 2S vs. 4S showdown, as Cocoa (3-1) hosts Treasure Coast (4-1). The Tigers and Titans last met in a 2021 offensive shootout that saw Cocoa came away with a 56-55 double overtime victory.
Prediction: Cocoa 33, Treasure Coast 30
American Heritage vs. Cardinal Gibbons
In a high-profile Class 2M-District 12 showdown, No. 4-ranked American Heritage (2-1) will host No. 8 Cardinal Gibbons (3-1) on Friday night. This matchup could easily be labeled the “Game of the Week.” The Patriots have won the last five head-to-head meetings between the two, including a 21-2 regular-season victory and a 31-20 win in the regional finals in 2022.
Prediction: American Heritage 28, Cardinal Gibbons 21
Seminole vs. Apopka
In another big Week 6 district showdown, Seminole (4-1) hosts Apopka (3-1) in Class 4M-District 2 play. Having played a one-possession game in every meeting since 2020, the Blue Darters have won the last two matchups between the two, which includes a 24-23 home win a year ago.
Prediction: Apopka 20, Seminole 17
Clearwater Central Catholic vs. Carrollwood Day
In yet another district showdown on this week’s Pick-6 slate, Clearwater Central Catholic (5-0) and Carrollwood Day (3-0) square off in Class 1M-District 3 play. The Marauders and Patriots met twice a year ago; Clearwater Central Catholic won both games, 30-6 and 21-11, with the latter coming in the Class 1M regional finals.
Prediction: Clearwater Central Catholic 30, Carrollwood Day 21
Lake Mary vs. Mandarin
An intriguing Class 4M matchup comes Friday night as Lake Mary (4-0) hosts Mandarin (4-1) in a battle of top teams in the classification. The Rams and Mustangs both have impressive offenses that average over 40 PPG, and they’re led by strong quarterbacks in Noah Grubbs and Tramell Jones Jr.
Prediction: Lake Mary 35, Mandarin 28
Cardinal Newman vs. Miami Northwestern
We conclude our Florida high school Week 6 predictions with a Class 1M vs. 2M showdown, as Cardinal Newman (4-0) takes on Miami Northwestern (1-4). The Crusaders are off to an impressive start to the year by outscoring opponents a combined 132-26, while Miami Northwestern has also looked strong playing a tough schedule.
