Expectations for the 2016 Bulldogs are on the rise after a disappointing 2015 campaign left them 6-5 on the season. Although they had injuries to some key personnel early in the season, Coach Tim Hatten says “that is just excuses, we had opportunities to win several games, and we didn’t execute well enough to win.”
This year they might be a little on the young side but they are very athletic. As a whole they might be the most athletic skill group in the panhandle. Heading up the offense is senior quarterback Rusty Moorer. His goal is to get the ball into the hands of his talented receiver corp. Last year’s leading receiver senior Andrew Adkins, senior Keenon Redd, and junior Keon Voisin. Returning offensive linemen Jonathon Glisson and Bryson Norris will help give Moorer some time to get the ball off.
Defensively the Bulldogs have 5 returners and the coach’s main focus is to put the players in a position to make plays. There are a slew of younger talented players working hard to earn playing-time. Coach says he will play a few players on both sides of the ball as situations call for it, Keon Voisin being one of these talented players.
Placekicker Cody Trawick will give the team some consistency not just on the field but also in the classroom with his 4.2 GPA.
Friday nights still mean a lot to the Crestview community. The Bulldogs fans will fill Jack Foster Stadium to support their red and black and to see their team succeed.
