In a week that featured numerous matchups between state powers, here are some of the top performers from Week 7 of the 2024 Florida high school football season.
Jocarian Garrett, Running Back – Cottondale Hornets
Jocarian Garrett had arguably the state’s top performance in Week 7, rushing for 418 yards and five touchdowns on 26 attempts in Cottondale’s 56-27 win over Franklin County.
Shawn Simeon, Running Back – Naples Golden Eagles
Three-star Toledo commit Shawn Simeon rushed for a season-high 322 yards and two touchdowns on 22 attempts in Naples’ 42-6 victory over Fort Myers. Simeon also had two punt returns for 20 yards.
Amari Clemons, Running Back – Marianna Bulldogs
Amari Clemons rushed for 157 yards and three touchdowns on seven attempts in Marianna’s 55-0 blowout victory over North Bay Haven Academy.
Nate Sparkman, Quarterback – St. Edward’s Pirates
Nate Sparkman completed 17-of-25 passes for 236 yards and four touchdowns in St. Edward’s 36-27 win over Boca Raton Christian.
Zorey Cotton, Athlete – Spoto Spartans
Zorey Cotton rushed for 136 yards and two touchdowns on 12 attempts in Spoto’s 48-7 victory over Freedom. The senior also had two receptions for 83 yards and a touchdown offensively. Defensively, he collected a tackle and a pass defended.
Xavier Cocking, Wide Receiver – North Broward Prep Eagles
Xavier Cocking had five receptions for 144 yards and three touchdowns in North Broward Prep’s 35-21 win over St. John Paul II Academy.
Michael McClenton, Linebacker – Ocoee Knights
Michael McClenton amassed 19 tackles and three tackles for loss in Ocoee’s 22-16 victory over Hudson.
Nathan Walters, Wide Receiver – Boca Raton Christian Blazers
Nathan Walters had a season-high 11 receptions for 156 yards and two touchdowns in Boca Raton Christian’s 36-27 loss to St. Edward’s.
Mack Jones, Linebacker – Arnold Marlins
Mack Jones had a season-high 21 tackles with three TFLs and a QB hurry in Arnold’s 40-0 win over Vernon.
Brogan Woeber, Kicker – Jupiter Warriors
Brogan Woeber was a perfect 6-for-6 on extra point attempts and made his lone field goal from 34 yards in Jupiter’s 44-13 win over Suncoast.
