Colts QB Phillip Rivers, an Alabama High School Great, Retires
After a 17-year NFL career, Colts QB Phillip Rivers has announced his retirement from the game of football. A former Athens High School and North Carolina State star, Rivers is one of the greatest current NFL players from the state of Alabama.
Rivers ends his career fifth all-time in passing yards with 63,440, as well as fifth all-time in passing TDs with 421.
While Rivers is saying goodbye to his NFL playing career, he is getting set to begin his high school football coaching career at St. Michael Catholic High School in Fairhope, Alabama, next season.
