Charlotte Wrestling Wins 2A State Title

Charlotte wrestling won the FHSAA 2A state title, with five athletes placing first and four more placing second. At 126 pounds, Andrew Austin (45-2) defeated Braden Basile of Tampa Jesuit (44-1) with a score of 6-5. At 160 pounds, Lucas Willis defeated Tampa Jesuit’s Sergio Desiante by pin. At 170 pounds, senior Cody Rice won his first state title by defeating Brian Burburija of Clearwater Countryside with a score of 5-2.
