Bryce Harper, Current Phillies Star, in High School
It is widely known that current Philadelphia Phillies star Bryce Harper had a different path to the MLB. Leaving high school after his sophomore year for junior college, Harper dominated JUCO baseball for a season before heading to the MLB.
What people may not know, however, is how good Harper was during his sophomore season in high school. Harper batted .626 with 14 HRs, 55 RBIs, and 36 SBs and scored 76 runs during his sophomore season. Harper was also the only underclassman selected to the Baseball America First-Team and the first underclassman ever selected to win the Baseball America High School Player of the Year Award.
