Bettenhausen, Cronk Headline Top Florida High School Football Week 4 Performers

A list headlined by stellar quarterback play, here is a look at some of the top performers from Week 4 of the 2024 Florida high school football season.

Wells Bettenhausen, Quarterback – Walton Braves

Wells Bettenhausen completed 13-of-19 passes for 364 yards and four touchdowns in Walton’s 48-21 win over West Florida. The senior also rushed for 20 yards and a touchdown on five attempts. 

Colby Cronk, Defensive End – Flagler Palm Coast Bulldogs

Colby Cronk compiled 14 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, five sacks, one fumble recovery, and one forced fumble in Flagler Palm Coast’s 48-0 win over Lake Brantley. 

Anthony Lamattina, Quarterback – Fort Pierce Central Cobras

Anthony Lamattina was nearly perfect in the Cobras’ 48-6 win over Tradition Prep, completing 7-of-8 passes for 203 yards and four touchdowns. The senior also rushed for 29 yards and a score on four attempts.

Champ Monds, Quarterback – Vero Beach Indians

Champ Monds led Vero Beach to their first victory of the season by completing 19-of-26 passes for 277 yards and four touchdowns in a 27-0 win over Centennial. The freshman also rushed for 43 yards on eight attempts. 

Preston Wright, Quarterback – Chaminade-Madonna Lions

After a big performance against American Heritage the week prior, Preston Wright completed 10-of-14 passes for 203 yards and four touchdowns in Chaminade-Madonna’s 56-19 victory over Edison. 

Brayden Sampson, Athlete – Walton Braves

Brayden Sampson was a perfect 6-for-6 on extra points and 2-for-2 on field goals in Walton’s 48-21 win over West Florida. On offense, Sampson also had three receptions for 117 yards and three touchdowns.

Uriah Maynard, Running Back – East Ridge Knights

Uriah Maynard rushed for 218 yards and three touchdowns on 21 attempts in East Ridge’s 28-0 win over Freedom. 

Terrell Brant, Wide Receiver – Zarephath Academy Eagles

Terrell Brant had seven receptions for 164 yards and three touchdowns in Zarephath Academy’s 56-13 victory over P.K. Younge. The senior also had two kickoff returns for 87 yards. 

Wyatt Votava, Safety – Melbourne Bulldogs

Wyatt Votava recorded 11 tackles, two tackles for loss, one sack, one pass defended, and one fumble recovery in the Bulldogs’ 28-0 shutout victory over South Fork. 

Garrett Rica, Outside Linebacker – West Nassau Warriors

Garrett Rica had 12 tackles, five tackles for loss, and one sack in West Nassau’s 47-12 win against Hamilton County.
