It’s quite common to hear about athlete’s physical injuries, but very rare to know of what an athlete struggles with personally. That’s why hearing of Blue Jays closer Roberto Osuna’s recent struggles with anxiety is not only woeful, but also surprising. The 22-year-old athlete opened up after not pitching in a save situation for the Blue Jays on June 23. The athlete confessed to reporters, “ …when I’m out of baseball, when I’m not on the field, … I feel just weird and a little bit lost.” Osuna also reveals that he has never felt this way before in his career and has been working with the team’s mental performance coach to overcome his anxiety. We here at In The Game Sports Network are inspired by Osuna’s honesty and wish him nothing but that best as he works to overcome this battle.
