Hewitt-Trussville vs. Hoover
The biggest game in Alabama high school football during Week 5 comes in this 7A-Region 3 showdown between Hewitt-Trussville and Hoover, both of which are 3-1 on the year. The Huskies have not beaten the Buccaneers since 2018, and Hewitt-Trussville fell twice to Hoover a year ago, both times on the road.
Prediction: Hoover 34, Hewitt-Trussville 21
Clay-Chalkville vs. Center Point
After reclassifying to Class 6A during the offseason, Center Point is off to a 4-0 start, outscoring opponents 191-61 in the process. The Eagles will face their toughest test yet when they travel to take on defending 6A state champion Clay-Chalkville, arguably the No. 1 overall team in Alabama high school football at the moment.
Prediction: Clay-Chalkville 45, Center Point 10
Lee-Scott vs. Glenwood
The next matchup in our Alabama high school Week 5 predictions features two of the top teams in the AISA, Glenwood and undefeated Lee-Scott. The Gators, who are 2-2 with both losses coming at the hands of Georgia teams, are looking to avenge last season’s 23-22 defeat by the Warriors, which was also the first time Lee-Scott had won the rivalry matchup since 2017.
Prediction: Lee-Scott 28, Glenwood 24
Eufaula vs. Pike Road
Defending 5A state champion Pike Road is off to a 2-2 start in Class 6A and now travels to face Eufaula. The Tigers, who are off to an undefeated start in Class 5A, are coming off a dominant 43-7 win at Greenville. They boast a defense that features one of the state’s top pass rushers, Yhonzae Pierre.
Prediction: Pike Road 31, Eufaula 21
UMS-Wright vs. Vigor
Led by Cole Blaylock, one of Alabama’s top rushers so far this season, UMS-Wright picked up yet another impressive win a week ago by defeating Gulf Shores 35-28. Up next for the Bulldogs is another test in Vigor, the defending 4A state champion and owners of a 3-1 record since moving up to Class 5A.
Prediction: UMS-Wright 21, Vigor 14
Parker vs. Gardendale
Gardendale, which enters this contest at 2-1 on the year, impressed on the road in Week 1 when in a 41-34 win over James Clemens 41-34. This week brings another intriguing road test for the Rockets as they travel to face a 3-1 Parker team that is led by one of the classification’s top running backs, senior Khalifa Keith.
