Alabama Female Athlete of the Month: Pleasant Valley Volleyball’s Allie Bryant

Pleasant Valley High School Volleyball Player Allie Bryant Named ITG Next Alabama Female Athlete of the Month for July 2023

For our ITG Next Alabama July Female Athlete of the Month spotlight, we are highlighting “One to Watch” in the upcoming schoolyear. Pleasant Valley volleyball player Allie Bryant received 46% of possible votes over three additional finalists: Spring Garden’s Ace Austin, Geraldine’s Brooklyn Hall, and Donoho’s Samantha Wakefield. The nominees were pulled from small schools, i.e., those in Classes 3A, 2A, 1A, and the AISA.

Bryant, a senior outside hitter, was one of the top players in Class 2A last season, and she helped lead Pleasant Valley to a state runner-up finish. She posted an impressive stat line for the Raiders, including 479 kills, 486 digs, 13 blocks, 290 assists, and 97 aces. Among multiple honors she received was a spot on the 2022 AL.com Super All-State Volleyball Team.

Looking ahead, Bryant is established among the top players in Class 2A, and she’s likely to play a key role in Pleasant Valley’s chase for a return to the state championship game this fall. Make no mistake, Allie Bryant is certainly a name to know as we look toward to the 2023 Alabama high school volleyball season, regardless of classification.
