AHSAA Class 1A Elite 8 Preseason Predictions
We make our predictions for who will make it to the Elite Eight in AHSAA Class 1A.
The brackets from the quarterfinal round to the state championship in 2021 could look very similar to how they did in 2020.
Defending 1A state champion Linden returns to the top spot going into the season, and they should once again contend for a state championship after dominating the competition in the playoffs a year ago. 2020 1A Runner-Up Pickens County returns a few notable players including Korbit Somerville, Javion Belle and Jacoris Barnes. They could take over as the top team in a loaded Region 6.
Looking ahead to the 2021 playoffs, we could see a few playoff rematches from 2020, including Linden vs Sweet Water and Brantley vs Maplesville.
