Lily Robinson is ITG Next’s 2026 Tift County High School Female Athlete of the Year, presented by Georgia Sports Medicine.
Robinson wrapped up an outstanding career with the Tift County softball team this past year in her senior season, and it looks like she saved the best for last.
According to Tift County head softball coach Jennifer Walls, who has coached Robinson for the past three seasons, Robinson was a major reason for the team’s success last season. The Lady Devils finished 22-6 overall, including a first-round playoff series win against Collins Hill. Tift County also finished as the top team in Region 1-6A with a 14-1 region record.
Robinson pitches and plays at first base, and no matter where she is on the field, her coach knows she is going to get the job done.
“Whether she’s on the mound or at the plate, Lily’s relentless work ethic sets the tone for the entire team,” Walls said.
Robinson put up the numbers to back it up. She finished the season with a .610 slugging percentage and a .448 on-base percentage. She hit five home runs with 23 RBIs and had 30 hits on the season. Her batting average was .366 for the year.
She showed her versatility as well, moving from the second spot in the batting order earlier in the season to the cleanup spot toward the end of the season and into the playoffs.
As impressive as her offensive numbers were, Robinson almost single-handedly led Tift County from the pitching circle. In 23 appearances, Robinson went 19-3 with a 1.16 ERA. In 145 innings pitched, she struck out 205 batters.
“Lily was our ace,” Walls said.
Although her playing days at Tift County are over, it is not the end of her softball career. Robinson will continue playing softball collegiately at the University of West Georgia.
